The career choices facing every sales leader
Let us paint you a picture. It has been a long year. It is probably the holiday period, and you are taking some time to relax and reflect. Most of that reflection will land on the good things: the deals you won, what the team pulled off, the fun you had along the way.
But you will also be thinking about what is coming. The gap to target. The pipeline that might not be there. The people you are going to have to move on. Another quarter, another year, and the pressure that comes with both.
And at some point in that reflection, weighing how the year has gone against how the next one looks, you will start thinking about what you actually want. It is natural. It happens to every leader who sits still long enough to think. The options are simple.
Your realistic options

Stay
A legitimate choice, and for plenty of people the right one. If the job still stretches you, you rate the people around you and you would genuinely be sorry to hand your notice in, then stay. We are not going to try and talk you out of it. And if staying somewhere you like, doing work you love, is the answer keep us in mind anyway. Things change. And you may still want world-class mentoring or sales training for yourself or your team.

Move
Another job. Sometimes that is exactly what is needed: a better business, a better boss, a proper step up. Sometimes it is a change of logo: same pressure, same board, new office. Only you know which one is on offer. If that is the road, still do not rule us out. We might know of businesses looking for a leader like you. At any given time our Geeks are working inside circa 200 UK businesses a month.

Build
A slightly left field choice. Why not build your own business? And if that is the road you are considering then there is an additional choice inside it: do it on your own, or do it with 80+ Geeks and a network behind you. This is what the rest of this document is about, and it is the option most people never seriously price up.
