A clear picture of where UK small business stands

Enterprise Nation has released a major new report on how UK small businesses are adopting AI and digital tools. The research was produced in partnership with Google, Sage, Square and Dell Technologies, and launched during London Tech Week. It provides one of the clearest views yet of where SMEs are making progress and where the gaps remain.

The findings are significant. Most small businesses now consider themselves digitally capable, but only a minority are using AI regularly. That gap is becoming a defining factor in UK productivity and competitiveness.

The report highlights the practical realities of AI adoption, the barriers that hold businesses back and the opportunities available to those who embrace new tools with purpose.
